Saxophone

The following is a list of repair services offered and prices for those repairs

PC (Play Condition) recommended every year
  • Exterior of instrument is wiped down 
  • Complete adjustment (pads reseated/coordination adjustments made as needed throughout instrument)
  • Oil all key mechanisms
  • Replacement of missing key corks and felts (extra charge if extensive)
  • Intonation adjustments made when necessary
  • Necessary pads replaced (approximately $15 - $25 additional per pad, includes pad and labor)
  • Very minor dent work and simple neck fit check included, additional charge if requires more time
  • Additional items checked at PC, but an additional cost if performed: body straightened, bell twisted, bottom bow seal, any necessary solders, key binding or other mechanical issues

DC&A (Disassemble, Clean and Adjust)

DC&A includes the work performed in a PC, plus:

  • Full disassemble and cleaning of body and neck 
  • Hand clean all keys and pads
  • Degrease all keys, posts, rods, and pivot screws. All new oil and grease is applied during reassembly.

Saxophone Repad

Repad includes the work performed in a PC/DC&A, plus:

  • Replace all pads (Price includes pads. Plastic, metal domed, or Selmer style resonators available)
  • All new materials/corks /felts included
  • Minor key fitting/tone hole issues will be addressed, but major issues will incur an additional charge. For more extensive and precise key fitting and tone hole leveling, please see Overhaul below.

Saxophone Overhaul

Overhaul includes the work performed in a PC/DC&A, plus:

  • Replace all pads*
  • Tighten all keys between posts
  • Level tone holes 
  • New neck cork
  • Replace springs (as needed, extra charge)

(*Pad cost not included. Custom resonators also available by order, but will also be an additional charge as well.)

I currently offer: Prestini NC3254 double bladder skin pads (pressed felt), option for cork pads in upper joint on Bb and A, Straubinger pads available by special order, and Music Medic tan bass clarinet pads.

Clarinet Overhaul

Overhaul includes the work performed in a repad, plus:

  • Keys fitted tight between the posts
  • Tone holes resurfaced/leveled
  • All new tenon corks
